Who is an Entrepreneur?
‘Entrepreneur’ is a title thrown around so much today that it has become very difficult to define.
People see an entrepreneur in different lights. Most people take an entrepreneur to be an initiator, a challenger, and a driver. Also that, he’s someone who creates something new, either an initiative, a business, or a company.
Nevertheless, let’s settle on the fact, and a working definition, that an entrepreneur is a person who –
- identifies and solves problems;
- a self-starter and open-minded;
- a creative opportunist;
- innovative; and
- an informed risk-taker.
In addition, he enjoys the game of creative imagination.
Certainly, entrepreneurship is open to ALL , including employees. If you enjoy being an employee, work better as an entrepreneur and achieve higher goals.
The Scope of Entrepreneurship covers all areas of human life, including:
- military and security
- designing and craftsmanship
- teaching and education
- sports and entertainment
- salesmanship and marketing
- writing and publishing
Essentially, your skill and your power of imagination can open your door to the exciting world of entrepreneurship.
Summary
I would submit that an entrepreneur is anyone who takes a risk to create something new for the good of others. Though a businessman takes risk as well, both are not the same.
I won’t be shy, but declare that an entrepreneur is superior to a businessman. Mildly, an entrepreneur is a businessman plus!
